Explore CAMS in Action

Live Applications & Dashboards

See the numbers in action — interactive phase-space maps, early-warning regime detection, and real-time societal stress trajectories. The CAMS framework isn't theory — it's a working tool.

Upload a dataset, select a society and time window, and watch the coordination phase space unfold. Mythic–Material decoupling (Λ(t) falling below ~0.45) often signals crisis years ahead.

Case Study 1 — The 1861 Telescope: US Civil War Onset

A classic "telescope" benchmark: nodes blind-scored from ~1850–1865 show Helm coherence collapsing while Shield capacity surges — the classic stress-discharge pattern.

V̄ (mean societal value) Drops sharply ~1858–1860
σ_V (dispersion) Spikes → internal tension rising
Λ(t) Crosses critical threshold ~1859, predicting fragmentation

Ensemble scoring walkthrough:

  • Helm: low Coherence (~3–4), high Stress (~7+)
  • Shield: elevated Capacity, acting as pressure valve
  • Cross-layer bonds weaken dramatically in the pre-war window

Case Study 2 — Iran–US Coordination Failure (Recent Window)

Current dynamics: low US Helm coherence with extreme internal Stress, discharging through Shield. Iran shows higher deliberative abstraction and cross-layer coupling — better "conductivity" in shared abstractions.

US Falling Λ(t), high σ_V → coordination bottleneck
Iran Stable Shield/Helm interaction, lower entropy buildup
Key insight Shield node strength ≠ overall resilience when Helm–Mythic bonds fray

Implication: asymmetric social cognition — US operating as "meta-animal" with fragmented brain-like firing.

Humans aren't isolated agents — we're neurons in a meta-animal brain. Societies coordinate through shared abstraction: high Abstraction scores enable long-range planning and alignment across layers.

Conductivity Strength of bonds between nodes (Bᵢⱼ) — how well coordination signals travel cross-layer.
Desynchronisation When abstraction mismatches (elite vs base layers), firing patterns decouple → low Coherence, high Stress.
Order parameter Λ(t) = global synchrony index. Below ~0.45, the meta-animal begins acting incoherently.
Node analogues Helm ≈ prefrontal cortex · Lore ≈ cultural hippocampus · Shield ≈ amygdala. Decoupling = irrational systemic behaviour.

Collapse isn't random — it's the loss of meta-animal mind coherence. CAMS quantifies this in reproducible numbers.

Score your own company, department, team, or community — the model is scale-invariant. Same 8 nodes, same formulas.

  1. Download the template: → cams_resilience_network_template.json → or use a blank CSV from the datasets page
  2. Blind-score the 8 nodes 1–10 on Coherence, Capacity, Stress, and Abstraction. Use an ensemble of AIs (GPT + Grok + Gemini) for reproducibility — that is exactly how the published datasets were produced.
  3. Plug into the dashboard or run simple_analysis.py locally. See the model page for the formulas.

Fork the repo, add your dataset, submit a PR — open science accelerates discovery.
